PROFESSIONAL PRESENTER / COLLABORATOR / ACTIVITY ORGANISER

  • Student Council for 2 years

Student Council consists of Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students. This year I have put together a project that looks at healthy eating. The year 9 students will be holding  discussions with students from the Middle School division on our progress so far. Meetings will be set up with the cafeteria staff on a monthly basis to encourage good relations and show our appreciation. It will also give the students the opportunity to suggest improvements and ask for any feedback from the catering staff.

  • Presented at SFS training day – making a film using iMovie

Presented with two fellow MaET (Master of Arts in Educational Technology) colleagues over a period of 3 hours for an INSET day. Covered all aspects of Movie making with iMovie. A total hands-on approach with colleagues bringing film to develop their own iMovie.

  • Initiated the ‘Maths Environment’ project for SFBS – raising the profile of maths.

As part of my Professional Development I have initiated my own action plan to raise the profile of maths throughout the British Division. This included looking at resources, especially for the more able students. I have also been working on putting together a maths morning for parents, with the focus on maths games and challenges. With this in mind I led a practical staff meeting / workshop which also included a survey that I created. The final part to my action plan this year will be to encourage an interactive maths area in each classroom thereby raising the profile of maths and the Maths Environment.

  • Coached for FOBISSEA 2008

Worked at part of a team for 4 months to train students to participate in the Fobissea games in Penang. Focus on working at part of a team as well as developing skills. Student collaboration and setting of personal goals a major part of training sessions in swimming, football, T Ball and Athletics.

UK

During my time in England I worked at a small country school. I was able to be involved in many aspects of school life. I held the coordinator positions of Assessment, ICT, PE, RE, and Early Years. Consequently I was able to receive training through conferences and courses for these areas of the curriculum.
